Wouldn't want to shake her hand, at the very least.
help me with my tree, please!
Yeah, I only hang out with 4-square types.........or more; I don't think Sheryl and I would hit it off. I mean, come onnnnnnnnnnnnn.
Let us know how the ham/potatoes/beans was.
Oh, Yummmmmm, Pirl.....it was delicious! :) I love to cook this time of year with all the fresh garden stuff. My fall favorite is making Brunswick stew with everything that's left in the garden....usually some corn, beans, tomatoes, peas onions, potatoes, garlic etc. along with stewed beef and chicken and my homemade tomato sauce. I make a big pot of it on my old wood cook stove, and let it cook for awhile.......and then at the end, I throw in some of the herbs I'm usually in the process of drying, and yum, yum. It's definitely not a hot weather dish since it is so hardy!! Back to Celeste's ham/beans/potatoes that I just had to make.........I don't think I'll have to do much cooking this week!!! So, what are the rest of you cooking up these days???? Oh, PS....I just made a coconut spice cake to take to our new neighbors for dinner tonight.....LOL...too much food!!
That stew sounds real yummy!!
Make it your own, Victor....you can't go wrong....just throw in whatever you have and it comes out great! Mine is never exactly the same, but it is always very yummy.
We made a vat of tomato and basil salad for our neighbor's lobster fest tonight.
Nice! I could bathe in that!
We get the leftover cooked lobsters. Good neighbor!
Just looked in here wanted to know about the troubled tree but ended up reading about TV programs I never watched, so sorry to tell you comedies are not my forte nor is any TV show unless it is about gardening or cooking.
That stew sounds simply great, sounds like what I make, never is the same
When I visited one of DG member eweed and family, in WA he grows the most wonderful vegetables and tomatoes, Victor you could bath in them here is a picture of me with some of them, perhaps some of you have seen it on another thread
Wow, that's really an armful, Maria!
Huge trunks! How much property does he have?
Very impressive. What does he do with all those tomatoes??
Good Morning Victor, as to your question, he and hiswife just give them away to friends and family along with other things he grows, they are two of the most generous and hospitable people I know
Hi Maria,
That's very nice. They sound like great people!
Pacific west coast, right? and American? Totally winner combination. :-) They can't help but be great people.
yes the are truly great people all around, very informal, very industrious and unbelievable kind and generous.
maria, those tomatoes and onions look fantastic. How did they smell?
We should invite eweed over to the NE forum for a visit. He and his wife sound like wonderful people. There's some great ones here on the East coast too!
Harper
Harper, I have suggested eweed to look up the NE thread, perhaps he will, he and his wife are coming here next month to hopefully see New England colours , I will ask him to say hello to all of you
That would be wonderful! I feel like I already am friends with him.
Maria - take photos of both couples together for us to enjoy, please.
pirl, I will. As a matter of fact I did while there but for some reason the flash did not work since they were in their living room in the evening :-((
