I have a herd of small white caterpillers devouring some weeds and now they are on my hostas. They are about an inch long with a black head, their legs are light brownish. Any ideas on what they are and how to deal with them?

only one I find in my cat book that remotely looks like it,is clouded skipper. I could be wrong...been wrong in the past...will probably be wrong in the future ;>)
P
BT Spray will work if they are from moths or butterflies. I use it on my columbine. Here's Wikipedia's definition. You can pick it up at home depot or true value.
