Aphids, just blast them off with the waterhose

Peachtree City, GA(Zone 7b)

Really!!! I have never seen aphids like this? I thought they were little white powdery things.

thanks

the milkweed aphids are yellow and very noticable on the plant

Thanks, I guess I never thought about there being different kinds of aphids.

milkweed aphids. they will keep on populating
dont just blast them. saturate them with dilluted dish washing soap
they will smother them and die
force of water blast can knock off the leafs and caterpillar babies

And the soap can kill the baby caterpillars. So be careful where you spray....

BTW, aphids come in all kinds of colors: red, purple, yellow, orange, gray, black....It just depends on which species they are. Look for those two little "stovepipes" sticking out of their back near the rear.

I removed the leaves that had the aphids on them. The ones that I saw. I had a hard enough time seeing these little guys with a jewelers magnifier, I will keep a lookout for the stovepipe thing. I am going to look in bugfiles to see what the stovepipes look like. Thanks for all the help.

I've seen pink aphids too

And green too. I think they come in all colors!
