I ordered 6 "Vermeer" lily bulbs and instead of holding them for autumn shipment, the vendor sent them to me already!
Can I plant these now, in spite of the heat? Or should I keep them in the fridge and wait for October?
Any help for this bulb-challenged newbie will be appreciated!
When can I plant these bulbs?
Plant them now. A bit early to be sent to you but they would be better off in the ground than in your fridge. Give them a good watering after planting.
In fact I fill the hole with water and let it soak into surrounding soil andthen plant, at this time of year.
Would also like to advise you to soak any incoming iris or liliy bulbs in a mixture of one part cholrox to 9 parts water. Soak for at least 20 mins totally submerged and then rinse well before planting. This just to make sure you are not bringing any baddies into your garden.

I will follow your advise and treat and plant them now, in a well-watered hole. Thanks, Ginny!
