Another unusual Ginkgo. Not sure what his plans are. Anyone else growing this one?

That IS unusual - looks like "Robbie" is dancing! Where did you get this one?

I actually got this right here from Dave. Was a tiny little thing last year.

Thanks for posting this, Todd. I just ordered this from Dennis, but I have not heard from him. Is that normal? I am going on vacation and I hope he doesn't ship without letting me know that he is shipping the plants.

It looks like your plant has put on quite a bit of growth this year. I can hardly wait to get this plant.
Thanks,
Mike

Yeah, you might not hear from him right away. I don't think he's shipping now until it's cooler though. Although I did get another 'bowtie' this week but I asked him to ship it at my risk. It arrived safe and sound. There's a nice picture of 'robbie's twist' at japanesemaples.com. You can see how the edges of the leaves are 'ruffled'.

I had an amazing amount of growth this year but they are all in pots. I am about to close on a new house with 2 empty yards to fill in with my trees. I'm not sure if I should plant them in the fall or wait 'til spring. Any thoughts?

Fall is the best time since that's when root growth is most active in woody plants. The ground is warm, but the air is cool, which is perfect. In the spring those conditions are just reversed; the ground is cool and the air is warm. If you plant the trees this fall the trees will have a chance to put out some good root growth to support all of the above-ground growth they put on next spring/summer.

Thanks for the info on Robbie's Twist.

Okay, I'll wait patiently until I hear from Dennis.
