Gent, Belgium(Zone 8a)

This fly doesn't look familiar to me. What could it be ?
Thanks!

I think it's genus Eristalis, maybe E. arbustorum or interrupta

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Most likely Eristlais arbustorum/ E. interrupta has just a small dot on the wing at the edge where the dark vein meets with a dark patch on this one, otherwise they are much the same.

Thank you Claypa and Wallaby!

wallaby, I noticed that in your pictures in the BF the fly looks identical except that the yellow mark under the thorax is clearer and better defined in yours than in mine. But I suppose that could be a light variation.
So I'll consider this as solved.

The yellow marks do tend to vary, I have E. interrupta too but have only recently sorted some of them.
