I took these pictures (and a ton more) of a cicada I found very close to one of the empty shells, so I assume he had just emerged. I think he's a Dog Days Cicada, but is there a more specific name? I was going to add him to BugFiles but didn't think he looked exactly like the Dog Days Cicada that was already in there. Just in the hour I watched him, though, he changed so much, so I was confused. Thanks for any help. In this picture I think he still has some sort of tail?
Just a little while later his coloring seemed a lot darker and his tail end was different.
