I noticed this fly on an apple tree in my brother's garden. It didn't look familiar to me because of the reddish marks on the upper parts of its wings

Could be this one, Mesembrina meridiana in Family Muscidae.

I think so too bonitin, with some flies it depends on how many hairs they have on a shin or whatever, this looks to be unique.
