Z4golfer;
Ditto to the plants' stress and its susceptibility to more pests and diseases. Also, remember to keep your brugs well watered especially when you are about to fertilize them, that helps prevent root burn. (right up to damaging your entire plants, any plant especially pottings plants).
My recent flush just prior to our heatwave. Second flush is forming on this one and other White blooms brugs. Others colorful brugs, look healthy but no buds forming in sight. Although, neighboring brugs bloomed intermittently, but suffered considerably due to lack of irrigation.
100+ Damage
well our heat is back in full force it was 101 all day this is what it is now at 6:30 in the evening Currently 98F on front page of our paper on the Internet.
It's ridiculous, isn't it Doris? We were supposed to cool down, but still haven't. Yesterday was a chilly 89 degrees with a heat index of 95. Now, it's 97 with a heat index of 103. Back into the hundreds again tomorrow, like it's a big difference.
Yes, I'm whining.
me too indiana, this heat is killing me, to say nothing of all the plants in my yard, I now have just about all my Brugs in the house.
No rain yet? The news makes it sound like Indiana is getting pelted with rain. Must just be your little corner that isn't getting it. Wish I could help. We had rain again tonight with more to come. I've had enough for a while.
Shirley, sure it isn't Michigan you're hearing about? :) Really, I sit and watch storms roll in on the radar, and before they get here, they have literally dried up and gone away. We did have a bad storm last Thursday that lasted two hours total from what I understand, and did drop 3 inches of rain, but, because it came down so hard and fast, it was not beneficial at all. It ended up flooding the roads and stuff. This has definitely been a very unusual spring and summer this year.
Well Shirley it always manages so slid above us like indiana said. I was watching that storm last week and kept thinking YES, THIS TIME but no it went on by, now Rushville, a small town 20 miles north of us always gets it, but Decatur County just sit and watch the radar *S*
I knew that Indiana was getting some rain, someplace....wish it would slide over you instead of by you. We are getting rain again this morning after 1.2 inches last night. I'm ready for it to stop. Many places in Iowa are flooding now.
I saw that. And, now there's the horrible mess in Ohio. Maybe we should count our blessings that we are not being flooded, just dealing with heat and drought.
We go from one extreme to the next. I'm too thankful though, because Dean is far, far away. It could be worst!
