My first year with this lily and I love how large the blooms are and how long they hold their color.
They really stand out in the garden.

Tango Lily 'Halloween'
Very nice!!!!!!
Very nice, I can see how they would stand out in the garden.
Nana, is that a tall one?
hemlady,
They are suppose to reach a height of 36-48 inches, but my bulbs were only put into the ground a few weeks ago and they shot up like gangbusters and have attained a height of about 20 inches so far and began to bloom quickly. They are said to bloom from June until September. I think mine haven't gotten taller because of the drought we are having here and I just could not manage to water as much as I would have liked to...my water bill shot up really high with what little I have done only around the base of the plants. I figure next season they will reach a taller height and will possibly need staking. I planted 5 bulbs and each did well and had blooms. So far they are standing tall and not falling over even with those large blooms.
I didn't know if I would like them, but I have to give them 2 thumbs up. I do like.

Beautiful lily!! Now you need to check out the rest of the Tango Lilies... :) This forums group of enablers turned me on to them by showing me the Tango Lily Dot.Com. :) I have a thing for speckled lilies. I don't know if they are going to bloom from June through September tho...
Ok, thanks for the reply. I hear you about the water. Ours is very expensive and I water sparingly which has hurt bloom this year. We have been in a drought too. Today we are getting much needed rain, but it is a month too late.
Most of the spotted lilies are normal size asiatics, but the blossoms on Tango Halloween / Kentucky are huge.
Ticker,
I doubted that bloom period that was listed on the packaging also and did a search on them and noted that bloom period was listed on several sites, but on one site it said they bloom from June-July. I think that is more apt to be the timeframe.
I see there is a Tango Lily named 'Kentucky'....you know I will just have to get that one since I am from the state. LOL
I do like the Tango Lilies a lot....don't know why I have never purchased any before now.
I'll check out that site. Thanks.

Though there is some debate, Halloween and Kentucky are identical. But we'd never stop you from buying more. :)
Nana, Dot.Com is a lily, not a website. :) Here it is...

ahahahaha Ticker...can you tell that I am "very new" to Tango Lilies? LOL here and blushing at the same time.
Now, you do know if I develop some kind of a Tango Lily addiction and begin to go crazy with a lily buying impulse syndrome....my hubby is going to come looking for you. ahahahahaha He thinks I have too many flowers now. I wonder if he says that since I always con him into helping me prepare the beds?
Nana3
Well if he can be conned, he can't be all bad!
Nana, where di you buy this one?
inanda
inanda,
I got them here.

Amazing prices. Also.......... amazing names. Pretty lily though.
Halloween is actually a bright orange very old unspreckled asiatic that I've had in my garden for maybe..... 20 years or so. Just love the way the Dutch pay no attention to registered names.
inanda
Inanda, thanks for clearing that up. I was out in one of my perennial beds and I came across a lily marker that said Asiatic Lily Halloween and I'm thinking I would have noticed it it had speckles. :) It's been there for a long time too.. Maybe that's why they try to differentiate by saying Tango Lily Halloween... :)

I just picked up an end-of-season post-bloom Tango Dot.Com at Lowe's for $4.50. It's got three bulbs. I don't usually buy lilies at Lowe's, but it looked really healthy, no blotches or streaks anywhere, so I decided to take a chance on it. I'll stick it in a corner somewhere to see how it does. If it still looks good sitting on their clearance rack broiling, I figure that's a good sign and it deserves a chance, anyway.
I bought the Capuccino from VanB, 5 I think. A couple bloomed, little flowers, and I saw nothing else. I will be thrilled if they come back next yr.
