And who am I please.....
CLOSED: friendly butterfly
Either a Pearl Crescent or a Northern Crescent - it would be hard to tell even if your picture were straight on. The first link mentiond taxonomic problems for your genus Phycoides. Northern Crescents are found in northern NJ, maybe not where you are though.

I'm wondering if it could be the mimic one. I took this picture at my mothers. She lives in south western north carolina in the mountains. About 45 minutes to Cherokee and 2 hours west of Ashville. I was there around the 20th of July. We went to a place to go tubing and all the butterflys would just fly up to you. It was really neat. This one was hanging out at our picnic table and would let you pick her up. There were other butterflys that would do the same thing. I couldn't believe how friendly they all were. Must be all the food :-).
I like the Mimic Crescent's Latin name, Phyciodes incognitus. Ingognitus = unknown, I guess.
I didn't think to look at some that weren't in NJ; the Mimic is a good bet.
How are the blueberries coming along there? :)
they were yummy. all done now.... I dont know about the farms they may still have some growing. I live around cranberry bogs too :-)
I was just up in the Smokies last week and was seeing quite a few Perl Crescents
