Kassia,

I have Lilac Lefluer Datura that Reseeded itself here in Maine if you would like some seed :)
I am putting together a huge list and gathering seed daily.
I plan to do some SASBE for people this fall that are wintersowing and also offer them to the NE forum first so keep your eyes open :)

I have SOME seeds, mostly from our columbines. When we get together to make a list, I'll add some of those.

Kassia:

Are you speaking to me? You'd like columbine seeds?

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

yes to the seeds.... and yes to you.... lol!!!! sorry!!!!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

That's so funny, kassia.

You can look up these two in the Plant Files: Aquilegia canadensis and Aquilegia 'Music Blue & White'. I know the ID of those two columbines and have plenty of seed to share with you on those two.

The other Columbine I have is a dark blue one that seems to grow a bit taller than the previous two. We got it from our neighbor when it was just about done blooming, so I don't have a photo of it. All I remember is that the flowers were a much darker blue than the 'Music Blue & White'.

I just went out and gathered a few more seed pods from these three plants, so I can send about an eighth of a teaspoon of each seed to you when I am sure that they are completely dried and clean. Would that be enough, do you think? You can D-Mail me with your snail mail address.

Kassia,

Did you want some of the Lilac LeFleur Datura too? I have a huge baggie from last year and the foolish thing reseeded and of course I have pods on it this year too :)
Should you have extra yellow, maybe we could swap :)

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

absolulty KIM!!!!! I will have tons of seeds to trade... and yes I want the LeFleur.... I think daturas are the easier thing for the very front of my house... no point of planing roses... when winter comes snow is going to be piled all in there... so I hope datura seeds will be ok and survive.... but just in case I am planting some more around other areas so I have plenty in case the ones in the front don't make it!!!!

so exciting!!!!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

This is so cool! I love trading - especially since I am such a 'newbie'!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Kassia, you are most welcome and im so glad you have so many blooms in your garden. Congrats on a job well done!!

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Kassia,

D-Mail me your address and I will start an Envie for you :)
I am going to be posting in the NE forum shortly for SASBE for newbies so keep your eyes open.
I want to be sure I harvest as much as I can before I make the announcement.
I will also post pictures of everything I offer so that you can shop the photos :)
It's my turn to pay it forward to all of those that have been so kind to me :)

Kim, what's SASBE?

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

A SASBE is a self addressed stamped bubble envelope.
You address it and mail it with postage and a return label inside.
I add the seeds, affix the postage and return label and mail back :)

Oh! I'm glad I asked. I never would've guessed!

I'm planning on doing a seed swap in November if anyone is interested. I usually post it in the wintersowing forum. I can post a link here in the NE if anyone would like me to. I do it in November so it gives everyone a chance to collect and dry out their seed.

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Anita, you know I'm in :) I have been waiting for you to post :)
I can actually play this year!!! So looking forward to it :)

Anita:

I'm in too, unless all my seeds have already been given away by then.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Well - save 10 packets for the swap. Just a reminder, don't forget that you can't send 'fresh' seed. Make sure they are dried thoroghly. Someone had sent fresh silver dollar pods and they were all moldy by the time they got to me.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh yeah. I have been watching and reading about how to treat all the little seeds. So ... 10 packetys, huh? If I put an eighth of a teaspoon of columbine seeds in each packet, would that be enough seed do you think?

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

oh that't great.... I will have some for trade... I will have tons of datura seeds... and I even have some rose seeds too... they are rugosas... so let's see if I have any luck with those seeds!
