Northeast Gardening Forum ROCKS!!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Do you subscribe to the DG Newsletter? If so, did you see that our wonderful NEG forum is in the #2 position according to the number of posts?

I'm betting that we can get it to number ONE.

Game on!!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Well that makes sense, that's where all the big mouths live. LOL :) Congrates to us!

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

who's number #1 then?? DL forum?? So far, DL and NE forums have the most activity that I've seen..

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

This is the forum where members go out at 10 o'clock at night and take pictures of their garden to share with others.

Of course it's popular. Who can resist that level of dedication?

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

The #1 forum is 'Games", and we were only about 250 posts away from being in their place and them in ours!!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Ah, we're just a bunch of yakkers. I can hardly keep up with y'all! Don't know what I'd do if we made it to #1.

Candy, How do you sign up for the DG newsletter?
I can't believe the traffic on this forum. Some of our threads are an embarrassment of riches in the photo department.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Dave:

Let me see if I can find the link. I signed up last week, I think, because I saw a link for it on the home page. I don't know if it's still there.

Give me a few minutes to find a link.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Dave, and anyone else who hasn't signed up ...

"To subscribe to the newsletter, go to "My Info" then Preferences and you'll see the checkbox. Check off the box for the newsletter and save the page and you will then be subscribed and will receive the newsletter once we start sending it."

The newsletters are sent out weekly, on Monday, I believe.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

It would be hard to disagree with you Candyce. There are threads I haven't even read yet, used to be just a couple going at a time before. I am glad all the new(er) members are so active.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I love that we are like one big happy neighborhood and that we seem to be the type that likes to 'get together over coffee and the garden fence' and share so much with each other.

One thing that I like about the newsletter is that each flower or plant pic comes with a description and 'spec sheet'.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

I did see the newsletter! I think we should get a prize ;0)

Ditto what Al said about the newer members. We've picked up a bunch in short period of time who are very active and a lot of fun and have great gardens to boot!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Thanks for the compliment, grampapa, as I count myself among the 'newbies'.

I can't wait until my gardens look as full and lush as everyone's! It's work - but I love it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great to see how active we are! We had about 50% more posts than the next closest regional forum. Games don't really count since they're usually quick, one or two word posts. Looks like DL's are the real competitiion. So Pirl, Celeste and whoever else posts regularly on DL's, STOP!!! Keep your loyalties / priorities in order! Hee hee.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Well - maybe our posts were down because Victor was on vacation? Welcome back.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I haven't posted on the DL forum in two days Victor and just posted more photos on the "Whats blooming " thread(.NEF of course).
I'll try to keep my priorities straight! However. I have been posting on the Lily forum as down South is bout done blooming. They shared with me when all I had was nubs coming out of the ground, so I got to pay the debt. But I will try to be even with my post...OK?
We should take 1st in no time w/all midnight and later post Kassia does. LOL

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh I so agree!! With all the late-night wee-hours morning posters, we are a shoe in. But we REALLY need Andy back more often. I feel we are losing him to another 'love'. I can't say that I blame him, though.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Should we rename it the NE (and insomniac) Gardening Forum??

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Candyce, Thank you! I'll check it out.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

You will enjoy the newsletter, dave47. I hope you do try it out.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks for the welcome back Cat! Missed that yesterday.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Candyce, ahh you beat me to it. I was going to post a similar thread.
The NE forum is really the greatest!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Hi, flowerjen. I'll let you get it next time - maybe.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I do remember when there were only a few threads going. At the time I think the Coffee thread was the busiest. Now, like Al, I can't keep up with all the threads!

WE dropped to 4th - whaaaaaa
Games 1,471 posts
Daylilies 1,209 posts
PlantFiles Pictures 1,086 posts
Northeast Gardening 987 posts

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Hey - the top three cover the entire world! NE only covers part of the US! We still ROCK!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

See what happens when I stop posting photo's in the "What's blooming" thread?!! LOL

Good points :-)

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Pixie not posting, Victor on vacation, I've been crazy busy. Fourth place is pretty good!

Anita, I think all threads are "coffee" threads now. This group digresses!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Maybe we should put up a "Margarita" thread for digressing (lol) . . . Is being "crazy busy" a good thing for a mental health professional?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I was not back and posting until late last week. So now I'll post type one word per post!! What if we started a thread called Digressions - would we stay on topic???

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Now there's a thought . . . ROTFLMAO (at work - no less!)

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Yank, I didn't even mean that pun!
Regardless of how a thread starts out, we tend to end up on chat and wisecracks! Fine with me, but if anyone out there gets frustrated let us know. We could always designate some threads as focused and serious....maybe not.

Victor, I love your idea!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I was focused and serious once - marriage was the result!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I like the idea of Digressions. Then I could show off the mess in the house due to all new kitchen counter tops and backsplashes.

Celeste, have you slowed your postings because you're busy or are the blooms petering out?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Looks like my Dining Room table all the time!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Cooktop on the floor, too?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

After a party.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Victor....still alot of blooms here. I didn't post as much as I felt I was hi-jacking the thread and like looking at other peoples plants. Then I got company, yard work, and the veggie garden is threatening to take over the lawn!
