I suppose this must be a young shield bug ?
CLOSED: juvenile state of which shield bug ?
#1 is the Green Shield bug at a very early stage,

I don't know #2.
Thanks, Wallaby! It looks indeed like your picture in the link; only mine looks much darker and that's not the effect of the light on the camera. The poor thing lost one of its antennas (if that's the right word for it ?)
It was possibly nearly a dinner for another bug! The darker colour could be because it's still very young, they seem to get greener and lighter as they mature.
#2 looks like it could be a more mature version of Troilus luridus, tha patterns are in the right places.

The one in the garden safari site is a real jewel! Do you think it is sure enough to add it as Troilus luridus to the BF or do I better wait and try to find a more mature one, as my garden is so small I might get a fairly big chance to bump into one sooner or later.
and yes, I also noticed that the juvenile green shield bug in that site has the same dark appearance as mine.
I feel fairly confident that #2 is Troilus luridus, but if you prefer to wait (I think I would) you will probably see it again.
It is a great site, I have found many of my bugs there!
