I noticed this insect in love with the purple petunias...I've seen it twice now but I'm never quick enough to get a picture. A fuzzy body like a bumble bee but bigger, tan toward the head and than black and tan toward the tail mostly the body is an almond shape. Large black antenae and a very large sucker that for a moment looked like the beak of a hummingbird but much too thin. Transparent looking wings and moves and flies just like a humming bird. Any Ideas?
CLOSED: Thought it was a hummingbird at first...sorry no pic
It sounds like a hummingbird or clearwing moth. Does it look like one of these?
