I planted a new 12 foot tall Sweet Gum tree in my garden in May. We had an unusually large amount of rain and storms with high winds through June and July this year. As a result, my Sweet Gum tree now has a significant lean to it from the prevailing south winds and wet soil. Any suggestions on how to remedy the lean without completely digging the tree back up and replanting it, which would surely kill it in our blast-furnace heat in August and September here in Texas?
