CLOSED: What kind of fly ?

It's a Syrphid fly. Maybe this Helophilus pendulus:

Helophilus pendulus, I have added pics to BugFiles. Yours is the male bonitin, they have eyes which are closer together (in many they are touching but this one doesn't.) The tail end pattern is a little different too, with the last yellow stripe joining on the male, broken on the female.

And yes, Wallaby it is definitely Helophilus pendulus !
There seemed to be only one so I hope it will find a mate!

There will be a female around, I find both of most insects. The females are often more secretive.
