That is absolutely beautiful!!!!

Glad you like it, I do too but am only 90% convinced that it's Nippon. It's supposed to have a yellow bar in the center of the petal but it's been unusually cool and cloudy the last several days.

Moby, This is my 'Nippon', I didn't know if it was 'Nippon' either. Just opened yesterday.

Well, isn't that a freaky bloom! Even the stigma is weird.

Your coloring looks more 'on' than mine.

Moby, the wierd ones fit right in with this group! I love all the diversity you have among the lilies, I wouldn't judge that beauty too harshly yet... give her another year and see if she doesn't show you her true colors....If not you can throw her my way LOL!

I saw quite a bit of wierdness in my gardens this summer;doubled stigmas to none at all, too many anthers to too few; and a lot of the time I saw flowers trying to double, not to mention the distortions from the freeze and the holes from the 3 rounds of hail we had.

I only have a few blooms left on Louise, Scheherazade, and Black Beauty. I do have a few oriental, asiatics, OTs and trumpets in pots that are ranging from just getting ready to open to just showing buds. Can we say 'house plants' so many of them can finish their growing cycle!

Just leave it to me to have the freak show in my garden. The second bloom on it has a "normal" look to it. Who knows, maybe the raccoons are peeing on these lilies. They already drink all the nectar out of our humming bird feeders.
Maxine, those are some nice ones.

Just a hanful of Mona Lisa left + buds still to open on some l. rubrums on the north side of house. I wonder if they will be white like ordered???
