He's tiny, but so cute. This is from the seeds Beth sent.....
My First!!
Thank you!!
Yea! Congrats threegardners! Neat coloring. I'd call him "Stripe".
Joanne
That's a cute name.. and nice looking too.
A.
I looked at him all morning...Mom said I was gonna wear him out, but I knew as soon as the sun hit him he'd melt.
So, do you think all the vines will be the same, or will they maybe all be different?
Do you mean the flowers on this plant (shibori), sometimes they have stripes (a few, none, or a couple more, some thin, some thick, each one flower is different).. now if you planted different types of seeds, then you will get different flowers, but if all the seeds in that spot were shibori, most of them will look like this one or white.
I don't know if I answered you correctly.
Oh...I don't know...the only ones I planted were some pink fluffy ones Beth sent me(can't remember their name) and some blue striped ones(shibori)...I have no idea where this one came from which was making me think I might have got some cross pollinated ones somewhere. I thought these were the ones Beth sent, but I, or Mom, might have got them mixed up. Next year I plan to grow many more, in pots..Mom's already collecting pots :) and I will label them much better.
I think I sent some strawberry shibori....this sure looks like one of them. Every bloom is different, like a unique fingerprint,
beth
Pretty!MG.Way to go!.
Nothing beats the feeling you get when your first glory opens! Congrats and enjoy the ones to come!
I will enjoy every one of them, thank you.
Love those "whiskers" - wonderful beginning. The more I read everyone's experiences with MGs on this forum, pots sure do look like the way to go.
Congrats, you made it in July. My blue shibori are violet just like that one, and the flowers are small because the nights are cold. It is interestin how the but stick up so straight, but the minit it falls off, it points itself at the ground and looks like it has gone limp. Frank
Just wondering.....these vines are making zillions of seeds....is there any point collecting a bunch of them? I mean, are they a pretty popular one, or something maybe somebody would like some of?
They are a very popular one because people love the streaked colors! You can even send me some back if you like! I'll grow them in my work garden next year.
: )) Cool...I'll send some your way!! I had them growing beside a red Clematis and they took over it...was a pretty combination...I took a picture but my cell phone sucks with anything with white in it...but it sure was a nice mix.
Cell phones take terrible photos! Be sure some seeds got into the ground so they will come back next year!
You got a nice variety of colors on the MGs, there. The cell phone makes the light colored ones look green!
:)
I was very pleased with them.......next year I am going to have a proper camera if it's the last thing I do!!!
Pretty arrangement of colors and vines! :-)
Thank you.
