Help with this one? Japanese Wonderflower.

Jerome, MI(Zone 5b)

Hi everyone. My neighbor gave me three of these bulbs in the spring time. They were pear shaped..and large for a bulb I thought. She bought them from a Japanese man at a Flower show. They are beautiful. And are blooming now. I can not find anything..with this name..It did not say anything..that came with it. The blooms are very shinny, just a little smell...not much. The blooms are the size of Star Gaziers. I need to know if they are hardy to zone 5. If not then I will dig them up in the fall time.. I really like them..

Anyone Know? Thanks ahead.

It looks so short... Is it really that low-growing??

Diana, I'm a newbie gardener too but I'm pretty sure most lilies heights are measured in feets no inches. You have a very very unusal one indeed. As far as I know, most lilies are hardy to Z5. I can be wrong though.. I'm sure there more experienced gardeners here to help.

If you ever need to thing out the miniture lilies, or have extra seeds from them, I'd love to get a few of those unusual beauties. :)

If they were just planted this spring, they will most likely be taller next year. I have no idea who they are, but they are pretty. :)

Aw...I will keep you in mind--ic...the package said 16 inches..so we planted them in the front..they are really nice..they really do not look real..more plastic.. because of the glossyness..lol...I hope they seed..we will see..thanks for the input...

Wannabe, just to be safe, I would dig one and bring in the house. Leave the others out, but mulch very heavily. You would be protecting your self on both fronts.

I have a lily that was sold to me as pixie Denia but bloomed looking like Stargazer. It had 3 full sized blooms at 12 inches tall--second year in a row. Now height increase. Blooms are normal Stargazer size. Some kind of dwarf or cross?
