Your kois' favorite food

Fred,

It all looks so nice. I have always been a fan of Florida and Palm Trees! My monstera is growing in the hallway upstairs!

It's going to be awhile for us! Brrrrrrrr...... It was 4 degrees here this morning! Here are my fish under a layer of ice. If you look hard enough, you can make out my pots of waterlilies.

Carolyn,
that's cool (yes literally)

do they swim around under the ice or just sleep?

Fred,

They do swim around some. I have been surprised this year as to how active they have been. I know in previous years, they have not been as active and I don't quite understand that - especially with temps of 4 degrees. This morning the air temps were 2 degrees, but I also know with my heaters, that shouldn't affect my water temps as much.

I know my waterheaters do tend to add to the water temp. When we first put the heaters in in the fall, the fish do become more active even though the water temps are cooling.

Personally, I would rather be sitting on the deck, enjoying the fish as opposed to viewing them through a hole in the ice.
