OK..here are my girls...Thelma (black) and Louise. They are poi dogs (mutts) and the mom was Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Thelma is really bonded to Bob and Louise is my best girl friend, here.
Welcome to the Hoya Forum Lourdes
Louise is a ball fanatic...here she is making sure we see it in the road to throw for her!! Can you tell I just adore Louise? When we went to pick out 'a puppy', I was crouched down looking at Thelma who was the alpha female of the litter and Louise toddled over and went to sleep under my bum as I was crouched. Any doubt who chose whom?

Carol....I'm dying over here. You're doggies are just the cutest. They both look like labs, and Louise looks so much like a chocolate lab (although I know chesapeakes greatly resemble chocolate labs). Well, it's quite obvious I am a chocolate lab lover! They're just so yummy and chocolatey....I'm telling all you women, having a chocolate lab gets rid of your "chocolate cravings"...haha.
Gabi
I love all your babies!! Hoyas and pet aren't we lucky?
Lourdes =)
I love seeing all of your 'children'...thanks so much for all of the great photos!!!

I LOVE all the pictures of our pets!! And yes, I'll bet they're all spoiled!!
Karen
Jasmine is a 15 yr old yorkie and Spookie I've had a week and as soon as I started petting her she wants both hands and will bite me if one stops.
Jeri
I think every single one of the pictures in this thread has made me smile. The world would be a lonely place without animals! This week I am babysitting my brothers pug, Peeve....as in
"Pet Peeve"....get it? He is sooo sad, I can tell he really misses his family, but I took him to the park tonight and he spent about 40 minutes running around with some cute little dachshund, and his spirits have much improved. Now it is time for bed, and I don't mind him sleeping with me, but man, does he snore!
Gabi - ROTFLMBO!!!! That dog's head is bigger than yours! They're so wonderful, aren't they?
Karen
TOO sweet!! Our dogs will only jump onto the bed when the thunder gets close!!!! Then it is too funny!!!
Haha...yes, it's very sweet. But as you can see, she's practically PUSHING me off my own bed!! I'm at the edge about to fall, while she's in prime sleeping position. Jeeeez....
Yes Karen, they are the most amazing creatures :)
Gabi is that 8 dog years are people? She still looks like a puppy either way. LOL!!!
Jeri
Believe me, I only have a cat now, but grew up with dogs, including 3 black labs, Rebel, Blue, and Oliver, and of course they slept in the beds with us, they slept wherever they wanted! My boyfriend has 2 chihuahuas, and they sleep with him at night (funny that he has such funny little dogs, being Mr Macho) and it is kinda cute the way they burrow under the covers to find a good spot and then growl at you if you dare to move and disturb their comfy position.
That Lionel looks like a real character - and he looks big, too - my mom has a big white cat named "Speck" (he used to have a black smidgen of fur on his forehead as a kitten, but it went away as he got older) and he has this unbelieveably loud, rough purr, it actually does sound like a motorboat now that I think of it!
Jeri,
She's actually 9 (If you counted the candles on the cake, there is a hidden one), but you just made my day! Everyone thinks she's a puppy when they meet her, and she sure does act like one. She does look good for a 9 year old dog, AND she has battled cancer (she had surgery to remove a spinal tumor followed by 3 weeks of radiation treatment). The oncologists and neurologists told me she would only make it for another year (even WITH all the treatment), but I chose not to listen to them and did the treatment anyway. Well, it's been THREE years, and she's better than ever!!! She's just a miracle dog!
Gabi
Lionel is huge (only 18 lbs since he lost a little weight, but still prizefighter size). He walks like a tiger, those shoulders pumping up and down. The tom cat that lives next door always thinks he's going to come over and beat him up but then gets a little closer and sees how big he is and reconsiders.....and then runs away with Lionel barreling after. Lionel thinks he's a tough guy but when anyone actually smacks him he comes running to me like the proverbial schoolyard bully, crying "mummy, he hit me!" Then he remembers he's a lover, not a fighter, and tries to make friends again. Now we're moving and he's going to have to make all new friends. I tell him it keeps him youthful to keep having new challenges. One thing he is terrified of, though, are the deer and wild turkeys. He hides behind the couch and trembles if they come even close to the property. Not big dogs though, isn't that weird?
Hi Gabi,
I’m so glad she is fine now. And my hat goes off to you for treating her; many people wouldn’t consider it. That speaks volumes about what kind of person you are.
Good luck and take care.
Lourdes
Thanks so much Lourdes :)
You are welcome! Gabi
Glad she was able to recover. I've never heard of a dog having cancer. She is indeed a miracle dog. Cancer is an awful illness and I've lost some dear loved ones to it. Be sure and keep it checked in humans it can come back. That is always the greatest fear.

Thanks Jeri. Yes, I am always making sure she's ok...she gets frequent check-ups. Unfortunately, I don't have insurance for my dog...you don't even want to know what it all cost!! They have the same types of treatment available for dogs that they do for humans (like MRI's, CT scans, etc) - it's amazing. My mother passed from breast cancer shortly before Sawyer was diagnosed, so there was NO way I was gonna lose her to cancer too. It's such a horrible illness. But *someone* must be looking out for my baby, because she's beaten all the odds :)
Gabi
Thank God!!! Sawyer made it!! Sorry to hear about your mom. My mom too!!!
Jeri
Awww...thanks Jeri. Sorry about your mom too. I'm sure they're in a great place now....filled with tons of hoyas and dogs!!!
I think it was Will Rogers who said, "If dogs don't go to heaven, I want to go where they go". Me too!!
Awww Carol don't you know about the "Rainbow Bridge?" Dogs go to heaven and wait on us to make the journey there.
Jeri
If only that Rainbow Bridge were real - I would give anything to see all the babies I have lost again.
I'm not ready to check it out. I'll let you know when I do.
Jeri
