Anita, I don't think anything was sadder for me than when Dobby died. Tears were in my eyes a few time!
Spoiler Alert Thread - Harry Potter 7
I agree - me too. I had even gotten my hopes up that Dumbledore was alive...
Loved his comment : Yes its all in your head and why do you think that would make it any less real?
That's actually a very scary thought - if you think about it.
Some of my scariest thoughts are in my head.
Victor, some of my scariest thoughts are about your head.

Ouch! Well, I have now read Harry 7 three times.
It really is quite a philosophical statement. Talk about providential - Harry survives only because he overcomes Draco (and because Draco - not Snape disarmed Dumbledor) - and the Elder Wand will not kill its true master - it will only destroy the horex (sp) part of Harry. Thus, in the end, good triumphs and Harry doesn't even have to kill Voldemort - Voldemort destroys himself.
I appreciate that Rowlings did not make light of war - characters we care about are at real risk - and many of them die.
I loved how Neville rose to the occasion - again. providentially, Neville is tortured by the one instrument that can save him - and help vanquish Voldemeort - the Sorting Hat. Only a true Griffindor could draw the Sword from the hat - so the "acquisition" of the sword by the Goblin made no difference - not being a true Griffendor
You guys keep filling in cool facts. Why do I need to read it? You are my cliff notes!
Love the reading part. I am always up for a great story!

Hate that I don't read much any more. But can't seem to get back into it.
It is funny. My reading has slowed down a lot over the years. Now I do more "audio reading " than reading. I often fall asleep after a few pages. But Harry is an exception to this. I've devoured all 7.
I need to try the audio books. Hopefully I won't fall asleep.
I better not, I'm driving when I listen to them!
Hmmm - I used to read myself to sleep; it worked like a charm. I think I need to switch to duller books - I read for 45 min. before falling asleep and then another hour or two if I wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep. Totally wrecks my daytime schedule!

Same here Carrie. I just finished one of my paperbacks i bought at a yard sale yesterday for a quarter. I got 5 books which should last me about a week. I am volunteering at the library tomorrow and picking up some non fiction to read. Not sure what yet, though. Still a few books in our library that I haven't read!

When I was a teenager, I worked in a library. I loved it. As I was filing items away, I would always come across something that I found interesting.
Audio books are terrific when you are potting plants. My daughter says there is a web-site where you can download someone reading all the Harry Potter books - I will check this out.
Seandor, I work at a library, and we have a service on our website where you can download audio books for free for use on a computer or an MP3 player. I'm sure your local library would have the same service. (We also offer movie downloads).
:)
Dee
We have that too - not sure about the movies though.
Really? Wow! Man- I am going to check this out! Thanks for the info!
Yea! Libraries rule! Audio books has renewed my visitation.
Jim Dale reads the Harry Potter series and he is wonderful. A British stage actor I believe.
Seandor, believe it or not, I was going to use the exact same words - I was going to tell you to "check it out" but I figured people would think I was using bad library humor... hmm, perhaps this should go on that other thread...
:)
Dee
I was there too!
Cool.
Now that's special!
I wanted Voldemort.
figures :-)
So Dave & Victor met finally at F.A.O. Schwartz - how appropriate.
(kidding, duh, I know they wouldn't dare meet without the rest of us to cheer from the peanut gallery.)
