Thank-you - you are all so kind. I am not really happy with the hydrangea garden. It is supposed to be all blues, mauves, whites and pinks. But the larkspur really haven't taken off - nor have the delphinium I have planted there. I have Balloon flowers and they seem to do okay - also mallow "party girl"
What do you think I am doing wrong? I REALLY would love to have tall delphinium in this garden.
Mums budding early?
How good is the drainage? That is critical with them. Looks great though. Did you lime the one Hydrangea with pink flowers?
Which Delphinium did you buy? Some are low varieties and some are tall. Go look at Graceful Gardens for all sizes and colors.
Michaela, Very nice!
They may be a bit earlier, but noone mentioned aconitum (monkshood) joe pye weed, toad liliy
Aconitum may be difficult to get established but it's so beautiful in bloom. For us it really resents transplanting and won't bloom the following year.
Pirl, Do you mean your monkshood skips blooming the year after transplanting or that you have to treat them like annuals? I haven't had any problems.
They just skip the year after transplanting, Dave.
I'd love to see a Monkshood skip for a year.
Easy, drink plenty of alcohol :-)
Too funny!
