Hi Paul! Not me. But it will be fun to watch the competition! Here's my Thailand Giant from earlier this year.... (wow, things have really grown, since then) I will definately be putting it in the ground next year and left in Fall. It has put out a baby.

I will definitely post later in the season.
The EE are just beginning to take off.
So far the biggest Colocasia (Fontanesii) is 4.5 feet high and the leaf is about 30".
The biggest Alocasia is 6 feet high and the leaf is about 26".

Oh, Lavinamae, I was wondering if you got one. Get anything else interesting? That is cute, "named him Tony". So Paul, is there a prize? How big are yours?

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

AuntB I just got the one plant, called ahead and told them I was comming to have it ready., they have open house Sept. the 8th and I'll get to tour and get other stuff. I got so much stuff in the spring I gotta watch out as I only have a lighted basement and it only holds so much.
I named the EE Tony after Tony Avent as a joke.

Round-up in Raleigh/Garner-Sept. the 8th. Lunch is pot lunch at Lake Benson park at 1:00PM

I order from him, so I'm on their emailing list. I so like reading about his adventures. He sounds like a very nice guy. I've flown into Raleigh a couple times, years ago, I didn't know he was there, then. We drove down to Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. Very pretty... had a great time. My daughter was into the tv show Dawson's Creek at the time, and we visited the set and also saw where John Travolta was filming a movie south of Wilmington. Can't remember the name of the town, they had a Christmas Store that we shopped in. We had fun.

Mine are well over 8 feet high! a ear I could get to was 50 inches long.

Fort Myers, FL(Zone 10a)

I have been told that it is HUGE! lol

If you would like one AuntB just let me know! I have a list going for the pups!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Oh my! Put me on that list! Thank You! I'd love to try to get it to grow that big here. I'd definately put it in the ground next spring - and dig in the fall, may not get quite as big, but I'll know it's possible because of its genes! How very nice of you!

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9b)

Hey Bonnie hows your passion flowers doing this year?

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Hi Paul, I'll have to say Lady Lavendar has been the best bloomer, 2 huge flushes and getting ready for more. I lost my Lady Margaret over winter - have had a few blooms on Constance E and the regular ol maypop one. The purple haze never blooms till it's time to bring in for winter... I have them all spawling on the lattice around my deck... they really like seeing who can crawl the farthest! How's your "new" home working for you, all settled and liking it?

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9b)

Its ok the new home i will have a small lady Margret you can have in a few weeks Bonnie i rooted some cutings plus i have some LM seedlings to i have Lady L to seems the cats like it best Paul

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Oh, that would be great Paul. Thank You! Hmmmm.. want some purple haze cuttings? It is the bluest, I've read. Not sure I could get them to root... I could try. Do you just put them water?

LavinaMae
I have no idea what kind, they grow like weeds. If anybody knows let me know.

Louisville, KY

They are Colocasia esculenta the common form you have another form in the back it is a Xanthosoma sagittifolium

I rarely get the common colocasia to flower. I would love to use it more often in my breeding but no flowers this year.

Athens, OH

Brian-
When do Colocasia, Alocasia and Xanths usually flower?
Mine tend to be erratic.

Louisville, KY

Well it can all depend on a few things maturity is first they have to be old enough to flower. Alocasias tend to flower for me in the late spring to early summer. Colocasias usually start at summer as do xanthosomas. But this may not be the same for people in the tropics were their plants are not moved inside or have to go dormant or slowed down for the winter. It maybe that they all flower when they are ready but for me it seems like a timed event due to me putting them on a schedule.

Athens, OH

Interesting.
Well...I have Xanth Wendlandii and Colocasia Fontanesii in bloom, but that's it so far.

I measured my EE's tonight, the biggest leaf is 50" by 35" and the tallest is 7' 4".
The yellow flower I posted came from a black ee, first year in a pot. Has bloomed 4 times so far. Have never had flowers on the other ones. I need to get a chart or book on these aroids. Any suggestions?
