September 8 Plant Swap: Food thread

Plants???? What plants????

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

I'll bring some fruit since I don't have to buy peppers and cukes. It's sweet but healthy!!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Sounds good, Sally! Just so you know, I got some nice sweet watermelon at the farmer's market last weekend (seedless red and half an orange one left after last weekend), so we can eat on that, too!

Do we need chocolate sauce for dipping all this healthy fruit? I've got a hunk of chocolate from TJ's, just need some heavy cream...

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Kind of just figured a cantalope and other melon, chunks , mixed. And plate of brownies.
maitablu- I'd love to try your pecan cream cheese bars....

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

MUST. TASTE. Pecan Bars!

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

proven regenerative qualities~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

I'm pretty sure that I have read that before, now that you mention it....

Brunswick, MD(Zone 6b)

I'll bring pecan bars you all. I have this compulsion to overfeed people. Ask Critter.

Metro DC, MD(Zone 7a)

LOL, if I send an SASE in the event that I cannot get up from my make-shift hospital bed, will you stick one in there for me? Okay, TWO.

I think pecan bars, and all this other good sounding food, would get me up from MY makeshift hospital bed!!

Brunswick, MD(Zone 6b)

I promise to fight off anyone who tries to get the last two, Wrightie. But you know we'll all be too devastated to eat if you can't make it. We'll all be moping in our Mojitos.

In that case, you'd better send some restorative thoughts this way.

Oucheee. Sending positive ways now! Feel them? Pretty nail polish by the way.

Oh, and may My Left Foot ~not~ spoil your appetites! LOL Sorry about that.

Thanks, Miata, I painted "Lefty" just for *you*, as a matter of fact. wRighty is still naked and under wraps, however....

seriously, we all hope you are back on your feet soon, literally.
A few years of this and we may be able to put together a mid atlantic bionic person- your foot, Gita's knee........who's next?

I believe credit rightly goes to Backy for "Plants? What plants?"
: ^)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

you mean there will be plants?? all this, and plants, too? :-D

Cross your fingers... with a little luck, Sears will be here in an hour or two with our new extra fridge... that'll give us a place for drinks, watermelon, etc... and if I stick a couple of trays of stuff in there from the other fridge, we'll actually have a little elbow room! It doesn't have an ice maker, though.) I've wanted an extra fridge for a while (turned down a couple of free ones because DH said I couldn't have an old, energy hog one)... Good place for apples, hot sauce (which we make by the quart), maybe even bulb pots (no, I haven't mentioned that part to Jim -- so mum's the word!).

We bought it online Monday, and it kept saying delivery on the 5th until we got through checkout and to the page for scheduling delivery... then it said the earliest date was the 11th! So I called yesterday and whined and complained (fairly politely, LOL) about that, and last night they called to say it would be here in the morning! Yea!

They won't rival Miata's pecan bars, but I picked up some rice krispies, so I can stir up some chocolaty treats! (They're just better with a heaping scoop of good cocoa!)

I hope everybody is prepared to take home leftovers! LOL.
