Know anything about a Gum Bumelia?

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

I have several scraggly looking trees that I've identified as Gum Bumelias, but I'd like to know more about them and they'r not in the plant files. If you can offer any info, I'd appreciate it!

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

Any idea what the Latin name is?

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Sideroxylon lanuginosum, formerly Bumelia lanuginosa. In the family Sapotaceae.

Resin

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

They grow wild here on the ranch in central Texas. Given room, they grow into a nice looking evergreen tree. Slow growing. The "thorns at the tip of the branches are blunt enough that they haven't been a problem. The bark is dark, fissured and looks like a live oak's bark.

This is a photo of one near our future home site. The trunk is difficult to see because there is greenbriar growing around the base.
