Which morning glories set true seed?

Gravette, AR

I never knew there were so many different types of morning glories. This is so exciting. I can see myself becoming an addict very soon. lol I used to grow heavenly blue but quit because they didn't come back true. I now grow grandpa ott's and love them because they are pretty and come back true. The ones I am interested in are:
Rebecca, Joyce Cobb, Pink Satin and Hatsu Arashi
Do these set true seed. I don't want to have to buy new seed every year or hand pollinate (yet) :-)
If I plant them in 4 different places in my garden will they cross pollinate?

Ipomoea tricolor "Heavenly Blue" should remain true to type unless it cross fertilized with another Ipomoea tricolor

notice the short glabrous sepals on the flowerbuds, flower base and seedpods....

I;m wondering if you actually had Ipomoea tricolor growing(?)...as many seed companies often substiture I.tricolor with Ipomoea purpurea...
additionally Ipomoea hederacea

http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/160632/
http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/125104/
notice the elongated sepals surrounding the flowerbuds, flower base and seedpods...

often volunteers in gardens and can be mistakenly thought to have self-reseeded from a previous years intentional planting...

Morning Glories that are the same species will potentially cross fertilize but MG's that are different species will not cross fertilize with a few extremely rare exceptions...

The types you mentioned as growing this year followed by the botanical identity

Rebecca - Ipomoea purpurea
http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/157152/
notice sepal characteristics that identify this as Ipomoea purpurea...
http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/146083/

Joyce Cobb - Ipomoea purpurea and a variation of the very closely related Joyce Cobb...

Pink Satin - likely to be Ipomoea nil or Ipomoea purpurea...a closeup of the lower outdide base of the flowers showing the sepals will confirm identity...

Hatsu Arashi - Ipomoea nil >similat to I.hederacea but the tips of the elongated sepals do not substantially curve outward or downward

Enjoy your MG's...(!)

Hi Ron,
Thanks for your reply. Yes the I. Hederacea is exactly what I've been fighting here at my new house! It is trying to come up everywhere. This house stood empty for a few years and it took over. I don't remember exactly what happened when I planted Heavenly Blue at my old house a long time ago. I just remember thinking "that's not what it's supposed to look like" when it came back the next year. I have no problem with the Grandpa Ott's it's very vigorous and sets lots of new seeds every year. Thanks again
