I was wondering if it was different from all the ones I have posted so far. Which is this?
CLOSED: Grey butterfly to be known.
It looks like a Skipper, Family Hespeiidae.

The Common Banded Awl, Hasora chromus looks right except for the darker colour.

Well done Wallaby. Reading the content in the link, I must consider myself lucky to have had this shot as the description says that it sat at odd places!
The Plain Banded Awl, Hasora vittata is brown and most likely yours. There are others with descriptions

There are others with descriptions if you click on the links for Hasora under Coeliadinae.

A pic of Hasora chromus so it could be that

Hasora chromus

Process of elimination, Hasora chromus in this pic doesn't have the dark lines on the wing tips,

Neither does Hasora vitta with the exception of a mark on the bottoom wing,

Hasora badra doesn't look right

Only one pic of Hasora anura with wings open,

Hasora taminatus wrong colour,

I think we are back to juggling between the first two, if you can read the descriptions and work out the differences between male and female you might get it!
Thanks Wallaby. Will go through them in due course.
Hasora chromus is the closest description. Your process of elimination was great!
