I have a lot of lawn seed I bought last fall. Does anyone know if it is likely to be ok to use this fall? I know a lot depends on how it was stored, etc., but if anyone knows for certain that it isn't likely to be viable, I'd love to know. I'm planning to test it this weekend (that is, to try to germinate a small bit of it under optimal conditions).
lawn seed how long will it remain viable?
I found one answer: How long are seeds viable? Under ideal conditions, many years. When stored under normal conditions, between two and four years. See http://www.agriculture.state.pa.us/agriculture/cwp/view.asp?a=3&q=128432.
