Beautiful Gordon!!.
Vigna caracalla
When do the Corkscrew Vines begin to bloom? I have 2 ... were planted at a foot tall in May, are now over 6 feet ... will mine bloom this year? If so, when?
Is there something I can use to force blooms?
Amanda..
September14 th .. is your loom date.. Gordon..
I feed mine bloom booster type ferts.. spray n grow helps me.. also... full sun...
melvatoo, the plant in the foreground is definitely a V.caracalla.
AmandaTaylor7, I think you'll be in luck next year. Mine only started flowering once it was over six foot (the second year), and then I only had a few blooms. Since then it has really taken off.

WOW - how do you know my bloom date that exact?
My plant is already over 6 feet ... just wanting to see some pretty curly flowers this season! And a September bloom will do! :) How long do the blooms last?
melvatoo, that's the one!
AmandaTaylor7,
They start off by forming these tiny clusters of buds, which then grows and start to open. I would say a cluster of flowers would last at least10-14 days if not longer. They don't do good as a cut flower. I've been tempted so many times, but they last a day or two and then all the flowers fall off. A pity actually, because I would love to have some in my house...
Wow - 10-14 days is good! Thanks!
How long is the blooming season? 10-14 days? Or continuously for a while?
OK after following this post. I will look for these seeds and try them next spring. I have the non- fragrant snail vine and love it. Your picture have me hooked.

Oh good! so I have at least three of them and they are starting to vine...
They have flowers the whole summer. Mine usually starts by the end of September (late Spring), and continue flowering until April when they stop. Then the seeds mature. At the same time the leaves start turning yellow, and eventually only the bare vines are left. By the beginning of September the beautiful new leaves start appearing again.
marieortiz, I have some seeds left from this year if you are interested. Let me know.
