I didn't get many taken today -- company visiting... when you live in Maine, everyone visits in the summer. This one doesn't have a name so if you recognize it, let me know. It's rather unique

Mainiac, I'm not a huge red fan, but you are swaying me over. That top one is especially wonderful, name or no name.

Centerfold?

OOPS, not Centerfold. Let's try Nepal!

I have a question? Isn't Spinx asiatic a yellow lily?
Love the pic of that first lily you posted, Mainac!!

Maxine, do you mean 'Sphinx'? If it's that, it's a double red. Or I think there is 'Spink'. Sometimes these names are enough to drive me bonkers.

Don't know. I couldn't read the dang marker. The lilies there are a pink single with spots.

I know that I had "Spinx" like 8 yrs. ago, but didn't think it was there. I am going to get some large sheets of cardboard from the company that prints our local paper and diagram everything out! Thouht I had it made with markers.

Didn't Lisa (BC) have a lily named Spink? I want to say it was a pink with spots...?

Well, that could be, as I ordered from Canada with a couple of friends.

Thanks, Moby.

For being so nice, heres a lily for you.

Buggy Crazy does have exactly what you describe, Maxine, called 'Spink', it's a relative of 'San Souci'.

My first ever Black Beauty bloom. Not the most exotic or unusual lily to you connoisseurs, I'm sure, but to me a very exciting day. Had never seen it in person till today. Prettier even than the pictures....

Very nice! :) Keep the pictures coming!

WP, don't ever hesitate to post your blooms ~ we like to see them all. Even the 'no-names'. :)

I remember the first time I ever saw 'Black Beauty' in bloom. I think I bought 5 pots, each with three bulbs in them. Isn't it just beatiforous? And it grows into a big guy really fast, with tons and tons of buds.
Love those lilies...keep them coming ;)

And what a constitution with that Black Beauty blood! Mine was first planted in 2001, in a hot, dry and extremely free draining soil. Full sun. I have daylilies planted there too, and they just do "OK". But BB just keeps on ticking. It's three stems now, all about the same. The "largest" has 16 buds and still is only 24 inches high! (And the tallest it's ever been.)

Mine is only about that tall this year. The main stems were frozen in that April deep freeze we had and the two that did emerge are pretty puny, but loaded with blooms.
