I think this should be easy, but I'm having a tough time getting a match for this guy ... maybe some type of plant bug?

Very strange ... the one photo in bugguide is the only photo I could find of this bug species on the internet (the same photo is in a pbase gallery).
The NCSU website has is bug as a NC species but no photos. The shape of the head/neck seems slightly different between the my photo and the bugguide one ... but they are extremely similar otherwise.
Does anyone know of a reference with more information on the species? The details are not in my guides ... I googled the internet for "Lopidea media"
I found this pending ID image on bugguide that I'll keep an eye on ... I've seen same the phases of the bug on a black walnut.
