this is so tall this year....just opened a few hours ago!

Now that is one nice looking orienpet. How tall is it?

this is the second year for it, and its about 5ft tall.

5 ft.. you got to be kidding. That's as tall as me then.. That's amazing.. Wow.

One of my favorites (don't I always say that?) Mine is blooming now and in its third or fourth year. One thing I'd make sure of, is with its HEAVY bloom number, the stalk will bend if it is not staked (learned the hard way). I started with 3 then and I have at least 7 now, I split them up last fall too. Mine must be 6 + feet now. It's one amazing orienpet.

Do all orienpet grow that large? My asiatic lilies are just about 2.5 at this point...

From my experience, they vary in height. The first year , they will always be shortest, as they are just settling in then. They could be anywhere from 3 or 4 feet to 7 or 8 feet, in well settled bulbs.

thanks for answering that magnolialover. I wasnt sure. Wow, 7 or 8 ft will be a real conversation piece in our neighborhood.

that's good to know. If it starts shooting up taller, I'll need to move it since it's potted in a large container on the porch.

Here's a photo of mine blooming today. It's quite the bloomin' machine.

Could be that in a container it won't get that tall. It's a gorgeous lily. Love yours too, magnolia.
