My 5 year old found this and brought it to me for a photo and id.
Any clue what this pretty moth is?

A smart (and observant) 5 y.o. there, Badseed ..

Remember the caterpillar from last fall? Maybe it's related!

Thank you! That was quick!
Clay, you have one heck of a memory! LOL
Sure 'nuff ..
However, I don't think the cocoon/spider nests hanging behind the brug bloom are related to the Giant Leopards' stages, tho' .. (heehee)
Jes lookey there, Badseed ..
Now you've got at least three more 'bug' images that you've jes gotta contribute to the DG BugFiles!?!

LOL I never did see what came out of those cocoons! They were still there in the spring when I scrubbed down my greenhouse but they were empty and sort of hairy like.
Ya know .. there are some folks (in some countries) that are collecting all sorts of cocoons for the silk value .. from the various caterpillar species and spiders!
You guys could be sitting on a proberbial gold mine there (rather, have one 'hanging' there). lol
Stranger things happen ..
((huggs))

Well, I could sure use a goldmine about now! LOL
