High Desert Gardeners Out there?

Lancaster, CA

I live in the Antelope Valley, Lancaster. Any gardeners in this area and surrounds... Acton,Santa Clarita, Canyon Country, Palmcale, Leona Valley, Tehachepi, Victorville, etc?
Would love to hear how your gardens are doing. Mine is doing great for everything except the tomatos. I'm fighting mites, blight and heaven knows what else.... But cucs, squash, peppers etc are great and I picked my first corn today :-)
Stay cool...i hope there's .no more sizzling days like July 4th !!!

North of you (west of Ridgecrest) with weather a bit warmer than Tehachapi at 4300'. Tomatoes going like gangbusters! Golden Bantam throwing up tassels. No peppers again this year. Lemon cukes in short supply. Try black beauty mulberry if you can (Bay Laurel Nursery). Green beans coming on. Sugar and snow peas all dried up & I'm collecting seed. Coming up on Fall planting time.

We get to Landscatter every couple of weeks.

Hi,
I'm in the Kern River Valley - Hot and Dry. Tomatoes aren't setting, beans aren't setting. Eggplant, squash, cucumber are doing okay. I love my drip system, and I top mulch to keep the soil cooler. Ann
