The small 10" spicebush seedling I was about to plant fell over and broke in half. Can this piece be rooted some how? It has leaves.
Thanks,
Deborah
I broke the spicebush seedling trunk in half , Now what?
Might as well try, it certainly can't hurt. The bottom part may grow again too so don't throw it away either.
I was hoping someone would say that! Thanks
I just now put rooting hormone on the broken one, potted it, then place a large plastic bag over the potted cutting for a tent. It's the hard wood lttle stem. Sure hope it takes roots.
I'll just wait a while before I plant the bottom one with roots.
Do I need to put anything on the top part where it's exposed. Glue maybe? I don't know.
i wouldn't put anything on it, as most plants grow from the apical meristem, which is fancy talk for the top of the plant.
Ok, thank you that's good to know.
