July 8th Blooms

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

This beauty is 'Barbarella'. It is MUCH cuter than I imagined. I have it in part shade and it loves it. Yay for this newer oriental.

This is 'Unnamed' from Buggy Crazy's stock. Very tall and elegant.

I've been trying to get a good picture of this one, but it's tough. This one is a Japanese Hybrid called 'Yuri No Hikari'. It has quite a different scent , reminding me of jasmine or gardenia, very lovely.

'Silk Road' has just begun blooming here and I had forgotten that I ordered a few more last fall and what a wonderful surprise for me, I tucked one here and I tucked one there. This is one of the most perfect lilies, tall, strong stem, perfect coloration and looking just smashing everywhere you put it. So Now I envision two fields, side by side, one of Conca d'Or and the other of 'Silk Road', the bonus is that they both would be bloooming together, as they do here.
Can you tell I love lily season?

This is 'Lavender Ballerina', an asiatic that I bought from the Lily Nook.

It rained today! Hard to get decent pictures! But we needed the rain.

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

So do we need rain. Looks like rain out, but doubt if we will get any.

One of my lilies that I took the other day. Must get out tomorrow and take more pictures.
Brindini LA, I think. will have to look to make sure. My memory went south today where it might be cooler than here. We had 99 here again today.

Wow, all of them are so wonderful! It must be heaven out walking in your lily gardens! One of Buggy's Silk Road may have to come stay with me this fall....

Maxine, 99? I was just sitting her feeling sorry for myself because it was like 95 here. I did go out and water potted stuff, but no weeding today...

‘Sorbonne’ I really must find room for more orientals.

This is a numbered lily from Faraway Flowers. It was a substitute. The pink is very light.
The aroma is just marvelous! Spicy and sweet at the same time.

That must be the numbered Japanese Hybrid that was the replacement. Lovely!

Tracey how are the marbled lilies doing?

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

I contacted the vendor about the variegated lily, complete with pictures of the foliage. They said to dispose of it and that it did indeed look suspicious.
Part of me wants to see how bad the bloom looks. Why, you might ask? Who the heck knows? I dug it up, put it in a pot and am trying to keep it away from all of my other lilies.
The others in magnolialovers pile of almost discards, are looking PERFECT. I just noticed 'Act Two' blooming today...in that pile, looking perfect. A couple of trumpets are in there are blooming, beautifully and one OT I have posted, that I wasn't sure the name, but recalled it, 'Urandi', looks perfect too. Having moved all of those lilies, I now have room for more, that's the good news.
So, the short answer is, things are looking good now, I do have quite a few more in that pile to go though.
My Japanese Hybrid should be bloming soon too. I'm jealous, Andrew, that yours is out already. You lucky duck!

Your un-named lily looks like Casa Blanca to me... ;) A great lily! ;)

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

It sure does look like 'Casablanca'. Great lily.

Lizella, GA(Zone 8a)

Yes, I did some searching (had lost the tag) and it is definitely Casablanca. Thanks for helping ID it..
