CLOSED: Over Run...HELP!

Louisville, KY

These bugs hang out in the cracks of my deck and sun by the hundreds on my shed. Any idea what they are and suggestions on how to get rid of them? I am in Louisville, Kentucky.

Thanks.

UGGGG !! boxelders.

at our old house.... we moved in in the month of Oct when it hit Indian Summer -- they were EVERYWHERE
we tried bugs sprays etc. nothing killed these things... [and lemme tell ya, i dont think they do anything, like eat your plants, etc.. but the fact that they are EVERYWHERE]

it turned out, the neighbors had a box elder tree in their yard, we even offered to cut it down for them, just to get rid of the bugs.... I'd hang my clean sheets in the clothes line to get that nice "fresh smell" and the dang things would lay eggs on them!! they had to go.

we used "soap and water" -- easy as that.

I use a QT spray bottle with about 1-2T of cheap lemon dish soap. you use enough soap, so that it suds.
the bug itself has to come in contact with the water to kill it -- but soap and water works like a charm.

you have my sympathy that you are being invaded.

oh, end of the story... we moved. LOL.
