Do lilies overcrowd?

Hi Guys,
Do lilies get overcrowded? I have been adding many for the last couple years and was just wondering.

Yes, they can but it's somewhat dependant on how prolific each type or cultivar is, and what you want for a 'garden look'.

When they are overcrowded, stalks and bud count per stalk become smaller.

Yes, I've been real lazy in the past, didn't divide and lost entire clumps.
