Ooh! Good=) I ordered some this year after wanting it for several years!

This does seem like it's going to be a great swap opportunity.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I'm in! Can we post a list of what we want or is this just random named iris? I have a few on my wishlist and would love to get them this year.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

You could give hints at what you would like, but you are being matched up at random or so I would guess near random soooo you might not get someone who has extra of the Iris you are looking for. In fact I would bet there will be a lot of people if they are new to Iris that only have 10 or so to pick from in total so colors you like and names you like would both be very helpful.

Ok, that helps. Ok, hint...
I love browns, plicatas and bi colors...how's that for a blatant hint?!!!?!?

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

this is Olympic Odyssey, the only one I can trade, but I have several. One of the things I liked about it is that it is the only iris that survived our horrible 15 deg. freeze over Easter Weekend. it also puts up a lot of scapes and blooms for a long time.

BIG MISTAKE. THIS IS MISNAMED. SO SORRY

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I hope so! Yup, I still like those browns, plicatas and bi colors. Not too big on orange and yellow.

it is still a beauty, Woodspirit. I'd be proud to have such a beautiful stand.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I see my mistake now. I have Summer Olympics, not Olympic Odyssey

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I got my secret iris trade from grannymarsh. Since I have never done one of these trades before I was amazed at how many and what beautiful irises she sent. I got Cranberry Ice, Lovers Charm, Total Recall, Thai Orange (I really needed an orange), Whoop 'em up, Jungle Gem and Fairy Ring. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope to have more cultivars next year and will try this kind of trade again.

Good for you!! sounds like she sent you a great collection....I have been wanting Thai Orange myself..........

Mrs. Tardy, here. I got overwhelmed with a few things this summer and haven't been posting much. This is a long overdue thank you to Jackie for starting this swap, to everyone for making it possible, and back to Jackie for taking over my secret trade when my original partner dropped out.

Fortunately for me, Jackie did not limit herself to sending just the blues, which I asked for. She sent the clear yellow Lemon Drop, the blu-ish pink Persian Berry, and (to me) the apricot-toned pink Beverly Sills which are really going to make all my blues come alive. And, then, that gorgeously unearthly ruffled powdered-blue beauty - Sea Power - how ever will I make it through the next couple of years until that one blooms??? And another powder-blue - Avalon Bay - to extend the shores of that color and the lavender River's Edge - so appropriately named for my future "blue stream of iris".

But, Jackie didn't stop with sending rhizomes - no - she included the March/April 1988 issue of Texas Gardener which has a wonderfully comprehensive article on iris - not to mention other subjects dear to my gardening heart like chrysanthemums, planting corn in a small space, companion planting, controlling pests with predators and other topics, all very informative and well written.

And! My printer is on the blink, so I also appreciated her sending color printouts of each iris from DG PlantFiles that I could shuffle around a table until I got a color flow I liked and could chart before planting my new treasures.

So, thank you again Jackie and all - and Happy Thanksgiving

Karen
