Monrovia's web site lists Juniperus scopulorum 'Wichita Blue' as hardy to Zone 7. Buckeye Gardening lists it as hardy to Zone 5. In the PlantFiles it is listed as hardy to Zone 2. In the associated vendors' sites the hardiness is listed as Zone 4. Should I take an average? There are height and width discrepencies as well. I'm putting one in the ground this weekend. Will I regret it?
Juniperus scopulorum 'Witchita Blue' hardiness ?
I'd go for zone 4, and the largest size you've seen cited. A lot of nursery size citations are (but without saying so!!) based on size at 10 years, not size at maturity.
One thing to watch for - being a Rocky Mts species, it is adapted to fairly low summer humidity and cool summer nights. It may well suffer from fungal diseases which are more of a problem in eastern US summer heat/humidity.

Oh, what a relief to know what to expect and where to site it. I'll keep an eye out for fungal problems. High summer humidity right here locally isn't a constant, more episodic. But it can cause problems. The color is a very nice steel blue. Appreciate the info. A lot.
