How do I search for a bug if I don't know what it is?

That's my problem...usually I can look at the pictures on the main page and find the species(?) that looks close and go from there...but I can't find any worm like things.....and I have no idea of genus, species, etc, if I don't know what I'm after in the first place.....does this all kinda make sense?

This is a problem when trying to identify anything completely unknown. The best I can suggest is posting an image to the Bug and Insect Identification forum. Several knowledgeable people may then be able to help you to identify your bug,

I wonder if we could have a browse feature like Plantfiles has? At least for critters that have a picture entered... ?
As Bug Files grows this would become more useful
