Gardener discretion advised! lol - I am going to show you pictures of my garden - starting with a view from above so you see the "lay of the land" Areas without flowers are not barren - just stuff hasn't started blooming yet.
oh - and please excuse my lack of ability as both gardener and photographer - I am a newbie to both!
the white spots are white rocks around the lavender.
The back garden is primarily a fragrance garden. Here goes . . .
The Following Photos May Contain Weeds.
Seandor, that is definitely an Eden in the making.
Did you do it in bits or just go whole hog one day?
I'm definitely with you on the thyme.
I get up early (usually before 6 am) and work in the gardens until about 9:30. The Fragrance garden is new from last fall. :-)
VERY impressed.
Not a very good shot . . . the white rose is Seandor (aka Margaret Merril) at the base is thyme. In the foreground is linaria (thanks pixie) - I will never be without linaria again! I just have to figure out how to save the seeds. (winter-sowed the linaria). In the back ground are bachelor buttons (also winter-sowed)
Seander---thanks for the garden tour and photos of your personally grown flower collection! Very impressive.
And I love the stone work in your paths, how pretty!
You got some great blue BB from your winter sowing--you have given me a new idea! t.
Very nice Michaela - you're getting there! I couldn't tell from your pic, but Sunny Border Blue gets really ugly brown legs so be sure to plant something to hide them. Actually, it did not do great in my garden. Dazzled for the first two years but faded away with each year and the ugly legs got worse. I finally got rid of it.
Victor - you are right about the ugly legs! I thought it was something I was doing wrong lol
Seandor,
Just beautiful!! I love the way you've laid out your garden, and the initial aerial shot is so neat. What a wonderful design!
lisianthus about to bloom. I have bought 6 more large containers - 3 are for Brugs (Equador Pink) and 3 are for Datura - Blackcurrant Swirl. These containers will go on the driveway behind the lisianthus. Don't you love Our Old Truck? Until yesterday, the bed of the truck was filled with gardening debris - mostly plant pacs and containers, etc. Yesterday, I washed all of them and safely stored them for next season. Now DH can get Our Old Truck repaired so we can go camping in August. Hurray! (l love camping!)
Thank-you BDale60. I had to climb though my bedroom window on the second floor of Our Old House to get the picture. There is a kind of mock balcony. An adult can stand on it - but no french doors, alas.
You have both a green thumb and a fearless quality. We like that in a gardener!!
Check out our effort (my wife's actually) to take the same kind of shot in "Adventures in Trellising" over on the Vegetable Gardening forum.
Happy gardening!! :)
I will definitely check it out . . thanks
