I'm fairly sure this is a Tawny Mining Bee, Andrena fulva a female. There is no Family here to put it in.

I only saw it once, exhausted on my doorstep, on 19th May. The next site states it flies from April to June.

Janet, I agree with your identification as the Tawny Mining Bee (Andrena fulva). I don't see a problem for the family. According to the sites thjat you quote above, it is in the Apidae and we have plenty of Apidae entries already. Were you confused by the sites quoting first the sub-family Andreninae? We are not recording the subfamilies in BugFiles.

Yep Ken, confused is the word, after looking for hours at the fine details of bugs galore the big, in your face details get lost!
