Selenicereus grandiflorus
Just a small portion of the tree that has the blooms.
Queen of the Night (Selenicereus grandiflorus)
Wow, Fantastic blooming! - but it is Selenicereus, not Epiphyllum :)
Excentric The Central Coast of New South Wales Australia. What a magnificent speciman, I too share the breathtaking spectacle of this wonderful plant in my yard each year .
This is a Selenicereus just like trilian15 had pointed out. This should be moved to its proper category.
as a newcomer to daves garden and the worldwide web i am now confused???do i have a selina cerus[grandi floris] or an epiphyllum ?? the library says the former.an ex neighbour hasgiven me a leaf which i placed in asmall pot and a shoot has errupted out of the ground it is very encouraging! themother plant had 6 blooms last feb ,4 at once ,.two weeks later2more. fantastic huge nearly a foot in diameter ,but not so fragrant !i fell in love with the scruffy vegetation which produc,s abloom so privately when most people are asleep! and now isuspect there is more than one queen of the night ?? icannot wait to become more able to use this marvelous medium tolearn more.
To excentric,
That is a very small photo, but I think you have Epiphyllum crenatum, if you haven't got an ID yet - here is picture of mine flowering in November last year to compare it with. Note the flattened scallop edged lime green stems which are characteristic of this species. Note also it has a tendency to flower on the most mature and tatty stems on the plant - usually the ones the snails have been chewing on!
Ciao, Jacq.
