easter lily prob.

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I received an Easter Lily (though it was yellow). I didn't transplant it right away I put it outside until I got around to it. I did so today but when I uncovered the bulbs they were covered with little flies. Should I replant these, throw them away or what. I thought that I could just put them in my bulb bed. What do y'all think?

Did they seem otherwise firm and healthy? Might as well try ~ go ahead and plant them.

They did seem healthy, it's just that if they have the eggs of some kind of damaging bug I don't want to put them in a bed with other bulbs that can be damaged.

You can soak them in a 10% bleach solution for about 30 min. and that should kill the critters. When you take them out of the solution, rinse well and set the bulb nose down to drain for a bit before planting.

Ok thank you Moby, I hadn't thought of that.
