CLOSED: What kind of bug is this?

Macungie, PA

I found this crawling on my bathroom wall, under the medicine cabinet... I have no clue what it is, except it's scary looking. can anybody help?
The picture isn't very good, but it's got 6 legs (so i know it's not a spider) and 2 long antenna things.. the back part of the body is orangeish and gray, the whole rest of the thing is gray, and it looks kinda fuzzy. there is also an orange pointy tube type thing out of its head. There is also orange bands around the antennas, and tips of them are orange. Is it a bad bug or a good one? Also, it's about an inch long, counting how long its legs are. Just the body is about half an inch maybe

It looks like an assassin bug. I found a thread on here that may be the same thing. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/731580/

Hope that helps!

yep that helps. Thanks a lot. guess since it's a good guy i'll go let it free instead of smushing it

howdy:

...we (my sons and i) saw the same bug outside today and after searching on the web, i think it to be a type of assassin bug called a 'wheel bug'...if so i do understand that they can be nasty in that they will bite you. funny, the one you have pictured is identical to the one we found, however images on the web have very different colorations and we weren't able to find one that looked as similar as to the one you photographed.
