My challenge now for winter will be a huge jasmine and a gardenia. I have to figure out where to store them and keep them happy. If I thought they could handle very little light in the basement I would keep them down there.
What was the most difficult houseplant for you?
What a fun thread!
I do best with plants that can take watering when I feel like it,
however much I feel like, and if I think about watering them.
Anything fussy, prissy or with consistent blooms seem to die when
they come to live with me. It's rough around here, you put out or you
get out. No special treatment for anyone.
LOL

ROFLMAO!!!!
LOL...It's a tough life around here, Rose.
That is, unless you are one of the cats.
;-)
I hear ya! I've got three of those too! And yes, they seem to fare better than the plants do!!! LOL!
that's only because plants can't bite your leg when you forget to feed and water them
Calathea makoyana
LOL gaia.
You all are too funny. But quite right. LOL
We live to be funny.
I would probably have to say a venus flytrap! Those things just really do not like me!LoL
Oh, you guys are just too funny...but very informative! herbivore74, I agree with you regarding the sensitives. My husband brought me two small Touch-me-nots, recently. (Someone at his job gave them to him, after he admired them.) I potted and watered them...and in two days they were dead! I felt so bad! So, unless someone can change my mind with more care information...no more of that variety for me.
And, Growhappy..it is especially nice to see input from someone so close. You are near Lutherville? ...... and I am in Dundalk! Hi Hon!
and to everyone else...HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hm, I just got a touch me not mimosa recently. At least now i know what I'm up against.
I tend to have Xmas Cactus die off after flowering. Is that a common problem?
Hi fellow MDers.
I personally like moth orchid, elephant ear, fiddle leaf fig and croton.
My amrallyis has only bloomed once for me no matter what I do. Have had it over 2 yrs.
I used to have an amaryllis. It bloomed approximately once every 4--6 years, and would cycle through several periods of growth and dormancy in between. Anywhere from 1 to 4 leaves would form, then die back. If it produced a 5th leaf, I knew it was about to bloom.
