Plum Crazy

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

Don your picture on July 14th at 4:41 AM looks just like my Plum Crazy which is a hardy. I got it last year as a new plant and left it in the GH all winter, then set it out in its pot until it had a lot of new growth and then planted it out about a month ago. It hasn't bloomed yet but there are buds on it. After it does bloom I will submit a photo of it, I sure hope it looks like yours, the bloom is so pretty. All my hardys this year are going crazy with all the rain we have had. I have around 15 out in my yard and I pick around 10 to 15 spend blooms off every day, then there are a few of them that is starting to slow down, and then some that are just coming on.

Didn't get seeds.

You think because,maybe hybrid,or just wasn't pollinated???

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

Might not have been pollinated but I have one odd looking hybrid that gets very few seeds for some reason. This year I haven't seen a seed on it. Don't know why but some of my hardies seed like crazy some don't.

Do you normally, have lots of bees?

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

If I don't get any seeds, when it is time to cut it back I will send you a cutting, all I have is just one stalk of it which is about 3 ft. tall.

Usually a lot of bees but I noticed this year there aren't many around. In a normal year my mexican heather is loaded with them but I have been seeing very few this year.

Thanks 2!
Same here too,not as many bees, but seems to be more wasps than usual.
